Baby Shower Decorations
1. put votives in baby food jars, cute candles!!
2. make binkys out of 2 wintergreen lifesavers and a jelly
belly, pink for girl, etc., place them around the house and let guests
take them when they leave. Don't eat them, you have to hot glue them together!
3. If you are having the shower after the baby's born, write
each letter of the baby's name on a diaper, and hang them on a clothesline.
Use permament markers for disposables!
4. If you're a crocheter, make baby booties,
and fill with jelly beans. :) Great take home idea for the guests
5. Here is a cute idea. Buy a baby tub and use it as a punch
bowl. Then whatever your theme is, such as ducks, you can use the ducks
to float around in the punch. The parents can then take the tub home as
a present from the host.
6. Here is a cute idea using a tub too. Fill a tub with several
individually wrapped items (diapers, lotions, washcloths, etc...) then
semi fill some baby blue balloons making them look like bubbles in the
tub and place a little rubber ducky on top with some ribbons. Everyone
will think it is adorable! And it will be a lot of things the mom needs.
7. Here is another center piece idea. If the mom-to-be has
a theme for the baby's room you can purchase a lamp that goes with it
(ex: Winnie the pooh) take it out of the box and make it your center piece.
You can also made "Honey Pots" for favors.
8. You can find confetti that says "It's a boy"
or "It's a girl" in party stores and put it on the tables as
decoration. If you don't know the sex of the baby, use both!
9. You can make chocolate lollipops in the shape of umbrellas
and hand these out as favors.
10. Take the crib/stroller for the baby and use it to display
the gifts, both before and after unwrapping.
11. Use some white tulle, run white twinkle lights from Christmas
through it, bunch it up every four to five feet (like a swag valance is
hung) and hang it around the room tied with the obvious color bow for
the gender of the baby. It makes beautiful diffused lighting and under
the bows can be hung small little baby things; booties, hairbrush, etc.
12. Using pacifiers as napkin rings.
13. Using cloth diapers as placemats.
****Some of these ideas can be taken home by mom to stock her up. Even
if she will use disposable diapers, everyone uses cloth ones for burp
cloths.
14. If you are tired of traditional little candy wrapped in
tulle favors, make homemade cinnamon buns (you could use the Pillsbury
ones in the dairy case), wrap them in colored Saran Wrap and made a little
tag using the computer, on pink index stock, that said "Thank You
from Laurie's little Bun in the Oven"...they are adorable and will
get Many compliments. Everyone will remember the shower fondly when they
enjoy their bun the next morning.
15. You can decorate an umbrella in the open position, with
blue and pink streamers and hang some so that it hangs over the sides
and you hang it from the ceiling near the gift table or chair where the
"mom (and dad) to be" will be sitting.
16. Use baby keys as the napkin holder.
